ARE YOU A SUBCONTRACTOR you may have to pay CIS TAX!
If you wish to become a subcontractor on a construction site in the UK you will need to be registered under the Construction Industry Scheme (CIS). A result of this registration your employer/contractor will deduct 20% tax (CIS TAX) from any pay you receive. If you do not register your employer/contractor will be within their rights to deduct 30%.
If you have decided to become a subcontractor this means you are classed as a self employed person so at the end of the tax year you are required to submit a completed Self Assessment Tax Return. The Tax Return will show your total earnings minus your expenses plus the tax that has already been deducted from you. This will then be used by HMRC to calculate your tax refund or tax bill based on these figures
To help you maintain control of your work and free time, we will help you make sure your tax is in order giving you for a peace of mind.
